What should be reported?
You could be: a child or young person who needs advice | a parent having difficulties with your children | worried about any child | a victim of domestic violence | concerned about mental health issues | a disabled person at risk or in need. If in any doubt call.
Training
We are a training practice, this means we have GP Registrars working with us. GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors undertaking further training to become GPs. The Registrars have their own surgeries but can seek advice and guidance from one of the other GPs if required
Private Services
Not all of the Practice work is paid for by the NHS, some services must be funded privately. The fees for these services are available from Reception and on our website, they may be subject to change
Test Results
If your doctor thinks your blood, urine etc needs testing, you will be asked to make an appointment with the Health Care Assistant and your sample will be sent to the laboratory. To obtain the results please telephone reception on 0191 4772243 between 9:30am – 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.
Prescription Notice for Patients
From the 1st March 2021 we no longer accept prescription requests over the telephone. Please use other methods to request your repeat medication.
Freedom of Information
Information about the General Practioners and the practice required for disclosure under this act can be made available to the public. All requests for such information should be made to the practice manager.
Infectious Disease
If you have a suspected infectious disease, please inform reception if you suspect an infectious disease, as this will enable us to deal with it appropriately during your visit to protect you, other patients and staff.
Consultations for 16 to 75 year olds
If a patient aged between 16 and 75 years has not had a practice consultation within a period of three years, we are happy, on request, to provide a consultation.
Out of Hours
When we are closed, please contact 111 via telephone if you require urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens. Please call 999 in a medical emergency.
Is it an Emergency?
DO NOT DELAY – CALL 999. If you are in any doubt, suffering chest pains or serious risk to life, then call 999 immediately. Do not wait to ask the surgery or send emails or contacts through this portal.

Our Practice Nursing Team
Our Nurses and Healthcare Assistants provide a wide range of services, including: Dressings; Smear Tests; Suture Removal; Vaccinations; Immunisations; Travel Advice and Health Promotion Clinics. They are particularly concerned with Preventing Disease and promoting good health.
Hub / Extra Care Appointments
These GP and Nurse appointments are available to patients registered with any Gateshead GP. The Extra Care clinics are based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and also at Blaydon Primary Care Centre. You may be offered an appointment at either of these sites if it is deemed suitable for you.
