New Triage System for Appointments

From Wednesday 5th November 2025 we will be operating a new triage system for appointments with our clinicians. We hope that this will be a more efficient way for all patients to obtain the care that they need. As usual, you will be asked by our reception team the reason for your appointment request. You may be booked an appointment at the surgery, signposted elsewhere, or asked to submit an eConsult, so that a GP can decide who is the best person to treat you. Please bear with us while we introduce this new system. The link to eConsult is ...

Out of Hours

For out of hours contact us on 0191 477 2243. You will be directed to the Deputising Doctor Service, or you can visit the Walk-in centre or, in an emergency, Accident and Emergency.

About Us

Our aim is to provide a high quality, caring and personal health care service to our whole patient population by:

  • Putting our patients at the centre of what we do
  • Having a highly qualified and trained multi-professional integrated primary Healthcare Team
  • Offering our services in a safe, supportive and suitably equipped environment, using technological advances in healthcare systems for our patient’s benefit.

Help Us to help You

Practices can be busy places and staff try hard to accommodate their patients – in return you are asked to behave in a polite and considerate manner. It would be appreciated if you would help your Practice keep surgeries running smoothly and ensure that patients are seen at the right time, by:

  • When you have an appointment please attend at the time stated, and if you are not able to attend please let the Practice know in advance, so the appointment can be used by someone else who needs it.
  • If you do not attend appointments, the Practice may de-register you. This means that you would stop being a patient of the Practice and you would no longer be seen by us
  • If more than one member of your family needs to see the Doctor or other Healthcare Professional, please book one appointment per patient
  • If you have to discuss a complex medical issue please let the Receptionist know so a suitable length of appointment can be arranged
  • Please notify the Practice if you change your address, telephone or mobile phone number
  • Test results take time to reach us, so please do not contact us before you have been asked to do so
  • We ask that you treat the doctors and staff with respect and courtesy
